Ask anyone to describe the ruined Elizabethan manor house and mediaeval castle at Moreton Corbet and the word "Stunning" will surely crop up! In broad daylight its paneless windows and soaring gables stand mute testemony to the glorious building which it must once have been, by night it's a different story........

Saturday 20th September 2008. Just gone 8.30 p.m. Mandy's car has died at the castle gates and the batteries on some of the Orbies torches have drained and have to be replaced before we even set out across the field through the 'orb soup' to the castle. Other members of the group are already noting that their phone batteries are dropping to dangerously low levels and then cutting out completely.
We split into two groups; Denise, Keith, Jenna and Mel head off into the darkness which is the Elizabethan Manor whilst Julie, Mandy, Hannah and Anwen set off to investigate the remains of the mediaeval castle.
Below: Jenna, surrounded by orbs, sets off to investigate the gateway which leads down towards the graveyard.
Below: An unusual golden orb - seemingly generating its own light source, appears through this doorway. It's just possible that a figure in a long gown holding something white in it's arms appears above the orb:
Below: a shadowy figure is seen to be looking down at us from this first floor window, the room in which he is standing however has no floor.....

The cellar is small, brick and deadly quiet....

As they leave, Jenna senses another presence and Keith's face is 'touched' by something unseen which leaves 2 disctinct 'wheals':

Above the cellar, we gather as a group to try to make contact with whatever lies beneath. Mel and Jenna sense that there is something moving between them. Fellow Orbies also report seeing a shadow moving around us:

The EVP below was recorded at Moreton Corbert Castle just after the incident in the cellar. It was captured in the room above the cellar. Denise, Jenna and Keith were present during the recording, none of them heard this 'voice' at the time
